My name is Ruben Lorenzo and I am a Dutch photographer that lives in Rotterdam. My interest in capturing moments started with making video’s when I was young. Playing with camera’s and capturing video’s of our family pets, I was intrigued by the variety of possibilities that a camera could provide.

Fast forward a little more than 10 years and a bored Ruben is watching YouTube video’s. Video’s about other people capturing their lives and the things that they were engaging in. I wanted to do that too so I bought myself my first camera.

Now, videography didn’t respark my interests like it used to but my camera had another beautiful feature… Photography! My new hobby had started and quickly grew into my passion.

After a short while the YouTube algorithm sparked my interests once more. This time with a video about analog photography. It didn’t last long before te selling powers of the algorithm got the best of me and I purchased my first analog camera.

All brakes were loose after that. I had found something that fits my interests like a glove. Now I almost exclusively take pictures on analog camera’s. The format lets me engage with my photography deeply. I scan all my pictures myself which is a time consuming process but worth every second.

In the future I would like to share my passion in photography with others and build a lively community!
